Our Commitment to Safety: How Great Canadian Bungee Keeps You Safe

When you jump with us at Great Canadian Bungee, there are several protocols in place to ensure your safety at all times. Starting at reception, we will weigh each participant in the clothes that they plan to perform their activity in, creating a verification for the tower once harnesses have been put on.

This checkin process is just one part of a comprehensive safety system that has been refined over more than 35 years of operation. Every step of your experience is designed with one goal in mind: making sure you can enjoy the thrill with complete confidence.

Multiple Safety Checks Every Step of the Way

Once you arrive on the tower, your weight is confirmed again before any equipment is attached. Your Jump Masters independently verify your weight, harness, and the correct bungee cord selection before moving on to the next step. These multiple layers of verification help eliminate human error and ensure that every participant is using the proper equipment.

Before every jump, both Jump Masters complete a final equipment inspection and verbally confirm each safety checkpoint with one another before giving clearance for the jump.

Built on Internationally Recognized Standards

Great Canadian Bungee has been a leader in the bungee industry since opening in 1992. Throughout that time, we've helped shape many of the safety practices used across North America today.

Our founder, Matthew Lawrence, serves on the Board of Directors for the North American Bungee Association as Chief of Safety Standards. Through this role, Great Canadian Bungee has contributed to the development and continual improvement of industry safety standards that are recognized by operators throughout North America and beyond.

Our operating procedures are built upon these rigorous standards and are continually reviewed to ensure they reflect current best practices.

Equipment You Can Trust

Every piece of equipment used at Great Canadian Bungee is inspected regularly and maintained according to strict manufacturer and industry guidelines.

Our bungee cords, harnesses, connectors, and backup systems are all tracked throughout their service life and retired well before reaching their maximum recommended usage. Regular inspections ensure that every piece of equipment meets our high standards before it is ever used by a guest.

Highly Trained Jump Masters

Our Jump Masters undergo extensive training before they are ever allowed to supervise a jump independently. They learn not only how to properly fit equipment and perform safety checks, but also how to communicate clearly with guests throughout the experience.

Whether someone is jumping confidently or feeling nervous on the platform, our staff are trained to prioritize safety above all else. Every decision made on the tower is based on established safety procedures designed to protect our guests.

Your Role in Safety

Safety is a partnership between our staff and our guests. During your visit, you'll receive a thorough safety briefing explaining what to expect, how your equipment works, and the proper body position for your jump.

Following your Jump Master's instructions helps ensure the safest and most enjoyable experience possible.

Confidence to Enjoy the Experience

Thousands of people trust Great Canadian Bungee every season because they know that safety is never an afterthought—it's built into everything we do. From the moment you check in until the moment you step off the platform, our team is focused on delivering an experience that is exciting, memorable, and above all, safe.

When you take the leap with Great Canadian Bungee, you can focus on enjoying one of Canada's most iconic adventures, knowing that you're supported by decades of experience, internationally recognized safety practices, and a team dedicated to doing things the right way.
